The Bronislaw Chromy ART Foundation

In 1992 the great Polish sculptor Bronislaw Chromy made a bold decision to open his own gallery in the much devastated bandshell in the Decjusz Park in Cracow.
The idea required a considerable organizational and financial effort, yet Bronislaw Chromy undertook the entire task himself and completed his design successfully.
This remarkable initiative inspired a group of people who were close to the artist and fascinated by his art, to start a foundation designed primarily to help organize the Gallery and promote the art of Professor Chromy.

After the Gallery of Bronislaw Chromy was opened in the building ceded by the City of Cracow, the routine work began, which required daily efforts to secure proper working conditions to this ingenious and unique cultural institution which was never been a beneficiary of state funds.
A significant feature of the Gallery artistic programme - according to the clearly expressed wishes and expectations of Bronislaw Chromy - is to present the work of artists from various art fields, and particularly, to help promote young artists. Its entire activity has resulted from this specific assumption in its programme.

Although we depend primarily on our own efforts, we have great hopes regarding the widening circle of people who are sympathetic to our idea and well-disposed towards culture, the people who still make significant contributions to realisation new and new projects.
